MathGenius Critical Thinking National Contest 2019 – Top Rankers
Here are the Top rankers by grade in the recently concluded MathGenius Critical Thinking Math National Contest 2019. Congratulations to all Top rankers, as well as all participants! Every participant is a winner because by participating you are striving for excellence and improvement!
At the request of many parents, a quick note on our classes: Mathus Academy calendar for the classes is divided into ‘Academic Year courses’ and ‘Summer Courses’: Summer courses (June-July) will run during June-July period. Academic Year courses run from August to May (10 months). For administrative convenience, Academic Year courses are divided into two semesters (but the coursework is continuous for the entire 10 month period). Fall semester starts in August first week, and will continue until end of December. Spring semester starts in January and will continue until May.
For the summer and fall classes, we will have a couple of online and onsite open houses in the months of from now through end of July. To register for the classes / attend an open house, please fill the form: http://bit.ly/MathusClassInquiry. If you have already filled the info request form sent in an email recently, you need not fill this form again. For detailed info about the Summer classes, please visit the blog post ‘Summer Courses 2019’. For any questions, please reach out to us on 833-4-MATHUS (833.462.8487).
Here are a few of key notes related to MathGenius 2019 National Contests and the rankings:
-
45 States across the United States (and a few countries outside the US, including Canada, UK, and India) were represented in this year’s MathGenius Contest.
There is intense competition for the top ranks. Several students were tied including some students tied with perfect scores. Wherever multiple children secured same score resulting in a tie for a rank, following tie-break rules were applied, as stated in the Test FAQs https://mathusacademy.com/faq.html
-
First level tie-break rule: time taken to complete test
-
Second level tie-break rule (if there is a tie on time taken): score in the last 5 questions of the test
-
Top 3 rankers in the MathGenius National Contest will be awarded cash prize, certificates and medals, while remaining Top 10 rankers will be awarded certificates. Medals and certificates will be mailed by end of May. If your child is one of the top rankers listed below, please enter your address in the following form by May 5, 2019: http://bit.ly/MG_Top10_Addresses
-
For some grades, we published more than 10 ranks. When there is a tie around the 10th rank, we published the names of all the students who are at the score. For example, in grade 7, students in ranks 9 to 14 all got the same score, so we published the Top 14 ranks.
-
If you find a typo of your child’s name or any other details in the below ranking table, please write to support@mathusacademy.com. We copied the names as registered for the tests. If you find that a parent’s name is listed instead of the child’s name, it is because the parent’s name was entered in the registration website in place of the child’s name. Apart from writing to us, please also login to the site and correct the name so that it will be accurate for future tests. Please also make sure that the parent details are accurately captured in the website. Likewise, if the state field is blank for you child, it means the state is not entered in your child’s profile during the registration. Please email us your state and fill it in the profile page on the site by logging in.
