Rewards of Science – Google Science Fair

Science is rewarding. The reward may be as simple as praise from the friends or as impressive as winning the Nobel Prize. The most important reward however is your own inner feeling that you advanced the humankind by a tiny bit.

Watch this video where these young students – Lauren Hodge, Shree Bose, and Naomi Shah – are rewarded for their extraordinary scientific projects in 2011. Their Google Science Fair wins brought them not only substantial cash prizes, but also fame, world tours (including a trip to the Galapagos islands for overall winner Shree) and an opportunity to meet with the President of the United States of America at the White House. Can you imagine yourself in their shoes one day?

If you were to pursue a science project of your own choice with guidance from a dream mentor, what would that project be? Describe it in your own words at the comments icon below. It can be as short as 5 words as long as 500 words – no project is wrong. Today’s small ideas are tomorrow’s scientific achievements!

  1. I want to invent a way too treat all allergies. I know each allergy probably has a different treatment, but I want to find a solution for them all. From dairy to nut allergies I want to find a single cure that will permanently cure all allergies.

    Thank you, Rithwik Guntaka
