Summer Courses 2019

Registration for Mathus Academy’s Summer Classes is open now. Summer classes will be offered during June-July and Fall semester classes will start from August first week. Open house schedule for Summer classes (more open houses will be available for fall classes).

  • Each of the below classes will be taught over 6 weeks during June/July period. Please scroll to the bottom of this post for the detailed schedule.
  • Math, ELA/Writing and Public Speaking classes will be for 2 hrs a week – one session of 2 hrs with 10 minutes break.
  • SAT Math and SAT English classes will be taught for 3 hrs each per week (you may register for just one or both) – one session of 3 hrs with 10 minutes break. PSAT 8/9 will also be one session of 3 hrs week with 10 minutes break.
  • ACT will be for 4 hrs per week – with 2 sessions of 2 hrs each per week.
  • Some High school AP/Honors classes are offered as group classes as while some are offered as one on one customizable classes. Please state the AP or Honors subject(s) that you need in the comments field while registering. Both group a one-on-one AP/Honors summer courses will be 2 hrs per week.

Summer Classes are offered Online and at our Alpharetta and Marietta centers.

  • Mathcounts and Pre-Mathcounts and AMC8/AMC10 Intensive Prep summer classes: These classes are for rising 3rd – 10th-grade students to crack up Mathcounts, AMC and other Math competitions, and build a solid foundation of Critical Thinking Math. It will also help a good foundation SAT. Each class will be offered for 6 weeks x 2 hrs per week in 4 levels:
    • Pre-Mathcounts Intensive Prep: 33d – 5th graders
    • Mathcounts Intensive Prep: 6th – 8th graders
    • AMC8 Intensive Prep: 6th – 8th graders
    • AMC10 Intensive Prep: 8th – 10th graders preparing for AMC10
  • ELA/Writing summer classes: These classes are for rising 3rd – 8th-grade students to build a solid foundation in English language and Writing skills. It will also help a good foundation for SAT English, AP Lit/Lang classes and for college admission process in the future. Each class will be offered for 6 weeks x 2 hrs per week at 2 levels:
    • ELA/Writing Level A: 3rd – 5th graders
    • ELA/Writing Level B: 6th – 8th graders
  • Public Speaking summer classes: These classes are for rising 3rd – 8th-grade students to build leadership, oral communication, and Public Speaking skills that are essential for success in school, college, and career. Each class will be offered for 6 weeks x 2 hrs per week at 2 levels:
    • ELA/Writing Level A: 3rd – 5th graders
    • ELA/Writing Level B: 6th – 8th graders
  • SAT classes: These classes are for high school students (and a few aspiring 7th/8th graders who want to take SAT for Duke TIP/ Johns Hopkins CTY, Northwestern CTD, etc.). Our SAT classes help students significantly raise their scores.
  • PS SAT Math – 6 weeks x 3 hrs per week
  • PS SAT Evidence-based Reading + Writing + Essay – 6 weeks x 3 hrs per week
  • PSAT 8/9 classes: These classes are primarily for 6th – 8th-grade students for two purposes: (a) 5th/6th-grade talent identification programs such as Duke TIP/ Johns Hopkins CTY, Northwestern CTD, etc); (b) some Private schools and Magnet/STEM programs require qualifying scores in PSAT 8/9. This course will also be offered over 6 weeks at 3 hrs per week.
  • ACT classes: These classes are for high school students (and a few aspiring 7th/8th graders who want to take the ACT for Duke TIP/ Johns Hopkins CTY, Northwestern CTD, etc.). All subjects necessary for ACT (Math, Reading, Language/Writing and Science) will be covered in this course. Our ACT classes help students significantly raise their scores. This course will be offered over 6 weeks in June/July at 4 hrs per week – 2 sessions of 2 hrs each.
  • AP & High school honors courses: some of these classes will be offered both as group classes while some are offered as 1 on 1 customizable classes (depending on the subject). The objective of these summer courses is to help High school students get a head-start on these challenging courses before the summer. The curriculum for these courses is quite vast and the goal is not covering the whole course, but really make it easy before the students start the formal AP/Honors courses at school. We offer a wide variety of courses including Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP/Honors Bio, AP/Honors Chemistry. The one-on-one classes will be customized to the student’s specific needs and are highly flexible. Both group and one-on-one classes will be offered over 6 weeks at 2 hrs per week.

**When both SAT Math and English are taken as summer courses, a discounted fee of $1390 applies.

***Multi-course/sibling discount of $20 is available for the second sibling/the second course.
