Dear Parents,

Registration for all 2018-19 Academic Year Mathus Academy classes are now open.

Register at: http://bit.ly/MathusFallRegistration

All classes, both online (across US, Canada and India) and onsite (3 centers in Georgia – Alpharetta, Marietta and Augusta), will start from Saturday, August 4 and will run through end of the academic year in May 2019 (for 10 months). For administrative ease, the academic year classes will be split into two semesters: Fall semester from August – December (5 months) and Spring semester from January – May (5 months), but the classes will span continuously from August to May as usual.

There are limited seats in all classes. If you would like to guarantee a seat for your child(ren) for any of the online or onsite courses, please do so ASAP by filling in the registration form above and pay $50 per child per course (balance semester fee will be due by August 1). Registration fee can be paid via PayPal to [email protected] or by mailing a check. If you would like to pay via PayPal and have a linked bank account, please use ‘pay to a friend’ option. If you would like to send a check, please send it to Mathus Academy, 845 Pimlicon Pl, Suwanee, GA, 30024. After paying the registration fee, please also send us an email at [email protected] and we will reply with a confirmation of the receipt. We will also email a document containing the course fee for all courses to all registered parents, including the multi-course / sibling discounts, payment frequency and different modes of payments accepted for the rest of the fee.

For feedback on our classes from the parents of current and past students, please visit the menu item ‘Testimonials‘ on our main website www.mathusacademy.com.

Webinars: We will have a series of complementary webinars on Critical Thinking Math, Spelling, English Writing/Public Speaking and Neuroscience by experts in the respective fields during the week of July 16. These webinars are not directly related to our classes (we will have separate open houses for classes info – please refer below for open houses). Rather they are informative sessions on the respective subjects by experts in the fields for all parents and we encourage all parents to attend these. There are limited seats in each webinar and the admission will be on first-cum-first-serve basis.

Please see the post related to webinars for schedules, speakers and links for the webinars.

Short blurbs on each course

For additional questions, please enter the questions in the registration ‘comment’ field or reach out to us at [email protected].com.

MathGenius (MG): MG focuses on building strong Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills in children. It is designed for children who are already doing well in Math at school. These skills will help in (a) preparing for Math competitions such as Mathcounts, AMC8/10, Math Kangaroo, NSF Math Bee, MathGenius online National competition etc, (b) building a strong foundation for SAT Math, challenging AP courses, Ivy college admissions, and (c) developing a flexible and analytical mindset that helps in acing high paying future careers such as Data science, Artificial intelligence, Neuroscience, Genetics (with heavy Math inputs), Nano-science etc. Parents are advised to note that Critical Thinking is a journey and not a crash course. It takes time to attain a flexible mindset and patience is paramount. Students who stayed with MathGenius for multiple years, even if it is initially challenging, got tremendously benefited. Please visit the ‘Testimonials’ from top menu for the current/past parents first hand comments. There are no credible competitive classes available in the market place for MG program. This program is offered in 7 levels (MG1 to MG7), and is suitable for students in grades 2 – 9. Levels will be decided based on an assessment/discussion with parents. It is available both online and onsite.

SpellGenius: SpG program is designed for students aspiring to participate and win Spelling bees at School, County, State and National level including Scripps National Spelling Bee and competitions such as NSF Spelling Bee and South Asian Spelling Bee. It is designed by the 2017 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion Ananya Vinay and is taught by winners and toppers  of Scripps National Spelling Bee. Offered at 3 levels – Beginner, Intermediate and Expert.

LanguageGenius ELA/Writing (LG W): LG W program helps students attain mastery in English Language Writing skills. Along with Math, Communication is a critical skill for success at school, college and career. Writing forms half of the communication skills, the other half being oral communication covered by Public Speaking skills. Students will be trained to attain mastery in a number of age-appropriate writing skills such as narrative writing and expository writing. LG W is a highly practice-oriented class with frequent feedback that forms a positive-reinforcement cycle. LG W is offered at 3 levels (A, B, C) and is suitable for grades 3 – 9.

LanguageGenius Public Speaking (LG PS): LG PS forms the other half of the communication skills necessary for success at school, college and career. It also helps children develop leadership skills and build self-confidence. LG PS is offered for grades 3-9 in 3 levels (A, B and C).

PerfectScore SAT and ACT: As the name indicates, this program helps high school students (and select 7/8 grade students) march towards the perfect score in SAT and ACT. Please note that perfect score is an ideal and not necessarily a good goal for every student. Through this program, we not only help children substantially rise their SAT/ ACT scores, but also provide informal counseling to parents and students in their high school journey and college admission process. All relevant subject areas and topics necessary for SAT and ACT will be covered in depth along with test strategies and test practice.

ScienceGenius: SG program helps build a solid foundation in Science for 4th – 8th grade children. Offered in 2 levels, levels 1 and 2. Only a select few, curious and interested children will be selected. This is online only program and will be taught by an expert science teacher who is equally adept at teaching young students and college students.

NeuroscienceGenius: NG program will help talented students with (a) preparing for Brain Bees, such as NSF Brain Bee and National Brain Bee and (b) build a solid foundation for future Neuroscientists. This online only program is offered at 3 levels and selects one batch each of highly motivated 6th – 9th grade students. Will be taught by passionate Neuroscience teachers.

MathCore (MC): MC helps children attain fluency and solid foundation in grade level Math. It is an excellent stepping stone for eventual transition to MG classes. Think of MC program as Kumon/Eye-level on steroids. This program is currently available only onsite in Atlanta and help children ace Georgia Milestones Math tests (equivalent of Common Core tests in other states).  MC is offered at grade levels 3 through 8.

MathusTutor: High school students often need one-on-one tutoring in specific subject areas by expert teachers in the respective area. MathusTutor is a new offering from Mathus Academy for high school subjects. If you are looking for tutoring in any subject – Math (Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus etc), Physics, Chemistry, English Lit or Lang etc, please mention the subject needed in the ‘comments’ field of the registration form.
